The IT Project
Oversight committee reviews the state's major IT projects
according to management standards developed for all projects.
The committee identifies and makes recommendations for the
remediation of risky and potentially unsuccessful project
activities and problem situations at the earliest possible time,
provides for monitoring, evaluation and reporting on projects
with issues that require heightened management attention,
develops standards and procedures for project steering
committees to follow, and provides an efficient and effective
means to share "best practices", "lessons learned" and other
information on IT project management and oversight with the
state's IT community. |

| Acknowledgement: The ITPOC policies, standards and procedures are based on the State of Kansas' Project Management Methodology and support project management policies. The ITPOC thanks the Director of IT Project Management of the Kansas Information Technology office, Vickie Rogers, for permitting Nevada to use the Kansas policies and modify them to accommodate differences in the way Nevada is organized for oversight and control of information technology projects. |
